Panda The Kewl!

So today is sketch day, which is cool (then Pandas always are) but isn't nearly as cool as tomorrow which will be Valentines day. No, today is the day when feckless men hurry to buy last minute flowers and/or chocolates for their loved ones in preparation for the one day of the year of where failure to do so will result in grievous bodily harm.

Personally I don't understand it, but then, I'm a guy, and romance is a strange and mysterious thing that's best left entombed in Mills & Boon Novels.Take Flowers for instance, nothing says " I love you" like presenting someone with rotting foliage. (It's at this point I should mention I have often presented my loved one with LIVE Flowers. )

But more than a passing confusion about romance in general, is an overwhelming need to rebel against the fact that I'm obligated to do this on some arbitrary day that is really nothing more than an amalgamation of several obscure pagan holidays. Why the 14th? I will not bow to the oppressive overlords, I will not be romantic on this one day, No! the 15th, perhaps, any other day, probably, but the little I do grasp of romance suggests that it should be spontaneous, reckless and sometimes, just sometimes, involve dancing in the rain.

Romance that is ordered and planned is no longer romantic (especially if it involves rotting vegetation)

Which really is all a long winded way of saying, surprise your loved one with romance today, then next week, and perhaps 17 days after that, but it should never be just one planned day per year.
